Welcome to my little corner of the web. I’m Kate though you might know me as esperdreams on social media or atwight on Twitch. This little space on the internet is where I share what I love most. That is video games, horror movies, and everything in between. I’m the type of person who can spend hours talking about my interests. I love spending time exploring every nook and cranny in video games because you never know what you’ll discover. I also love being scared while watching horror movies or yelling at the wannabe survivors for making dumb decisions.

Gaming isn’t just a hobby for me, it’s a lifelong passion. I’ve played across generations and genres, from retro classics to modern AAA titles. I’ve got a soft spot for story-rich JRPGs, survival horror, and indie gems that push boundaries. Whether I’m grinding for loot, solving puzzles, falling for every jump scare, or getting completely destroyed in a boss battle, I’m all in.

And horror? That’s a whole other obsession. From cult classics, found footage flicks, psychological slow burns, and slashers, I’m always on the lookout for something that will leave me sleeping with the lights on. I love how horror challenges us to face our fears, to feel uncomfortable, and to think. Plus, it’s just fun.

On this site, you’ll find a mix of thoughts, reviews, personal takes, horror rec lists, basically whatever I’m into at the moment. I’m not here to be an expert or a critic. I’m just a fan who loves diving deep and connecting with others who share a similar passion for immersive worlds and eerie thrills.

If that sounds like your vibe, stick around. Let’s talk games, movies, and all the weird, awesome stuff that comes with them.

Here are some of my favorites (subject to change a lot)

Favorite Games

  • Resident Evil 2 (The perfect blend of tension, action, and panic. A survival horror masterpiece on the original PlayStation.)
  • Hades (Fast, fluid, and dangerously addictive. With characters so well written you want to keep dying to talk to them again.)
  • Silent Hill 4: The Room (Disturbing, surreal, and unforgettable. It’s my go-to in the series)
  • Still Wakes The Deep (Atmosphere cranked to 11. Isolation, dread, and on an oil rig horror? Yes, please.)
  • Final Fantasy VI & X (VI for the incredible villain and ensemble storytelling. X for the emotional gut-punch and iconic world-building. Both legendary.)
  • Phantasy Star IV (A criminally underrated sci-fi JRPG. Ahead of its time, with a killer story and characters that actually make you feel things.)

Favorite Horror Movies

  • The Thing (Practical effects royalty. Trust no one, not even the dog.)
  • Scream (Smart, self-aware, and still scary. The meta-slasher that changed the game.)
  • All of Friday the 13th (Because slasher legends never die, especially Jason. From Camp Crystal Lake to space, we’ve seen it all.)
  • The Howling (Creepy, campy, and totally unforgettable. The cabin scene always terrifies me even now)
  • Train to Busan (Fast zombies + emotional storytelling = a punch to the gut and a sprint to survival.)
  • Return of the Living Dead (“BRAAAIIINS!” Punk rock horror chaos. Hilarious, gory, and way too fun.)

Favorite Game Soundtracks

  • Hades (A masterclass in dynamic music from chill vibes in the House of Hades to absolute chaos mid-boss fight. Darren Korb never misses.)
  • Final Fantasy VI (Nobuo Uematsu at his peak. Emotional, epic, and unforgettable. “Dancing Mad” alone is a journey.)
  • Phantasy Star IV (Underrated and atmospheric. It nails that retro-futuristic vibe while still hitting you in the feels.)
  • Suikoden II (From battle themes to town melodies, this soundtrack makes you feel the weight of every choice and every loss.)
  • Final Fantasy X (Hauntingly beautiful and deeply emotional.)
